Live in Conversation: Sharon from Indigiearth

Sharon Winsor of Indigiearth recently joined us in Seedlab Australia for Live in Conversation.

Live in Conversation is one of our favourite sessions in Seedlab, where we get to chat with industry heroes and gain raw and real insights into their journeys.

Sharon shared her story, the story of her business, and shared her advice and learnings with our community.

Indigiearth is more than just business. It’s my healing, my passion, and it runs deep within my soul.

Sharon | Indigiearth

Sharon is a Ngemba Weilwan woman from Western NSW. She founded Indigiearth, an established, award-winning, 100% Aboriginal owned business, based in Mudgee, NSW.

Indigiearth provides premium bush foods made from authentic Australian nature products that are ethically sourced and sustainably harvested.

Sharon is passionate about connecting people with Aboriginal culture and heritage through native foods. Her raw, real, and honest experiences resulted in some impactful and thought-provoking conversations.

The impact of the session is best represented by the participants:

I really connected with Sharon’s journey has we have faced many similar challenges and racism. It was a great conversation and I really appreciated Sharon’s willingness to share her journey and vulnerability.

Sharon is an amazing woman and I feel privileged to have been able to hear her story and listen to her business journey. Key A-Ha: When Sharon said ‘if you have the fire in your belly, keep going.’ Also, hearing that it has been a long journey and that things don’t happen overnight.

The content that resonated was around authenticity. A real person, with a real story of inspiration. The key message was of reconciliation and progress via education. The raw topics of racism and gender based prejudices are sickening to hear, exist still on a daily basis. Each and every one of us can play a role in being a good human, learning, educating, and raising the standards across our touchpoints.

I really valued hearing from a woman who is a business owner and indigenous. I found it valuable to get this confirmation that there is still a lack of support and opportunities for women in business and that there is still a gap in perceptions and dealings with women in business. It’s something I’ve also encountered and doubted myself in such situations that I’m imagining it. I also found it valuable to see that she started with minimal resources and networks.”

Thank you Sharon for sharing your story and bringing awareness to the issues that indigenous and women business owners face.
